Will ChatGPT and AI destroy the art of writing and blogging?
Did you know that ChatGPT has now come to WordPress? ChatGPT is an AI-powered language model developed by OpenAI. It is a state-of-the-art language generation system that can generate human-like text based on the input it receives. ChatGPT can be used for various applications, including chatbots, language translation, text summarization, blogging and more. WordPress has added two new AI blocks to the Block editor.
ChatGPT and AI must pay for the news it consumes: News Corp Australia CEO
The creators of artificial intelligence (AI) fuelled applications should pay for the news and content being used to improve their products according to the CEO of News Corp Australia. In an April 2 editorial in The Australian, Michael Miller called for "creators of original journalism and content" to avoid the past mistakes that "decimated their industries" which he claimed allowed tech companies to profit from using their stories and information without compensation. Chatbots are software that ingests news, data and other information to produce responses to queries that mimic written or spoken human speech, the most notable of which is the ChatGPT-4 chatbot by AI firm OpenAI. According to Miller, the rapid rise of generative AI represents another move by powerful digital companies to develop "a new pot of gold to maximize revenues and profit by taking the creative content of others without remunerating them for their original work." Using OpenAI as an example, Miller claimed the company "quickly established a business" worth $30 billion by "using the others' original content and creativity without remuneration and attribution."

Why ChatGPT and AI are taking over the cold call, according to Salesforce leader
Generative artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT are changing the way that companies and salespeople are communicating with customers for the better, said Clara Shih, CEO of Salesforce's Service Cloud business. "You look at how salespeople work today, and most of them, they dread writing sales emails; they'd much rather be out there with customers," Shih said on CNBC's "Squawk Box" on Thursday. "So they can offload those tasks that are more mundane … they want to focus on engaging with the customer and problem solving." Shih drew a clear line between how generative AI can be utilized by the general person compared to business clients and enterprise users: "We're not talking about writing funny poems, we're talking about writing sales emails and customer service responses that agents can send to get back to customers faster." Earlier this week, Salesforce launched what it called the first generative AI CRM technology, Einstein GPT.
As battle persists over AI, here's what teachers, students have to say about ChatGPT use.
Despite concerns about whether students are using ChatGPT to cheat on exams or as a shortcut to doing their coursework, a new national survey shows students and teachers have quickly incorporated the new technology into their every day lives. Laila Ayala, a student at Comp Sci High in New York City, for instance, has used ChatGPT to research prompts for her debate team on the effect of AI on students, student mental health and whether the SAT and ACT should be abolished. In Kentucky, high school junior Zachary Clifton said he's used ChatGPT to create study guides for some of the college courses he takes at a nearby community college. Even as some school districts ban the artificial intelligence platform – which can quickly answers questions about nearly any subject it's asked – and some college professors find themselves becoming hypervigilant about whether students are using it to cheat, the new survey commissioned by the Walton Family Foundation and conducted by Impact Research found 22% of students use the chatbot to help them with coursework or in extracurricular activities "on a weekly basis or more." And more than half of teachers surveyed reported using ChatGPT at least once since its release, with 40% of teachers using it "at least once a week."
